Brother Eric Brooks
The Church of Christ in East Baltimore is truly blessed to have as a member, ministry leader and church Elder Brother Eric Andre’ Brooks. Brother Brooks and his lovely wife of 28 years, Sister Alice Lorraine Brooks, are the proud parents of a son and a daughter, Jason and Jaime. The apple of their eye is grandson Jeremiah. Brother Brooks is from St. Michael’s Maryland, where he attended Moton High School. From there he went on to graduate from Morgan State with degree s in health and physical education. This dedicated Christian man began his walk of faith in May 1980, when he was added to the body at the Central Church of Christ. A dear friend, Nathaniel Hawkins, was instrumental in bringing him to the church. He and Sister Brooks placed membership with East Baltimore church of Christ in 1995 .Our Brother in Christ is a distinguished, articulate and gentile man who always has a kind word and friendly smile for everyone. His many Christian works include teaching Sunday school, coordinating all aspects of the Sunday worship, including the ushers, communion, offerings and announcements. His love for the youth of the Church is evident as he both mentors and chaperones the bible bowl team. At every opportunity he expounds on the many accomplishments of the church youth. His life experiences and many personal stories add to his expertise as a teacher and member of the Church. A memorable and deeply moving experience in his Christian walk was being installed as an=2 0Elder of our church on Sunday, October 22, 2006. Brother Brooks believes serving our Lord and Savior is not only his Christian honor and privilege but also his duty as he continues his walk with the Lord. He feels he has been truly blessed in his life and does all he can to give back to God. For m ore insight into the faith of Brother Brooks we need to look at several verses and books of the Bible. He has chosen Moses as the person he would have walked with in ancient times. He feels the conflicts faced by him teach many lessons we could all learn from. The life of Moses went from living in Pharaoh’s palace, wanting for nothing, to his life as he dealt with Egypt’s mistreatment of his people, and finally leading his people out of Egypt. Revelation is his favorite book of the Bible because it tells Christians what we have to look forward to and that we do have the final victory. This humble and gracious gentleman has truly devoted his life to God and our church as a church family we continue to reap the rewards of his strong ministry leadership.
