Brother Gregory Claiborne

As a church family we are indeed blessed to have as an associate minister and our Building and Grounds ministry leader Brother Gregory “Greg” Claiborne. A native of Baltimore he attended Carver Vocational Tech high school and later enlisted in the armed forces in 1969. Brother Claiborne and his gracious wife, Sister Ella, will be married 15 years in July. They have a son Charles and five beautiful grandchildren. His job as a cabinet maker for over 15 years has proven invaluable as our Building and Grounds ministry leader. Brother Claiborne was taught the gospel by Brother Elmer Sembly, Jr. while attending Metropolitan Church of Christ. He obeyed the gospel in February of 1992. From Metropolitan he placed membership at the Deer Park Church of Christ. With the other members at Deer Park he helped establish our East Baltimore Church of Christ in 1995. Being the Building and Grounds ministry leader means our brother is20responsible for all aspects of maintenance inside and out for our Church. On any given day you can see him painting, repairing and coordinating with true Christian spirit as he keeps things running smoothly. As always Brother Claiborne can use any and all help the Brothers and Sisters can give him. Being a good steward of our church is the responsibility of all the Saints. As a dedicated servant of the Lord our Brother has been preaching the inspired word of God since 1996. Former Education Director he has taught new convert and discipleship classes, was a care group leader and taught the fishers of men class. In add ition he assists with baptisms, weddings and does the Church film strip series. Steadfast in his Christian convictions and faith this strong spiritual leader currently teaches the Tuesday evening men’s bible class and the Thursday Morning bible class. This patient, modest gentleman of God has his strongest calling to teach and preach discipleship. Teaching his Brothers and Sisters in Christ the things they need to stay grounded in their faith is a driving force in Brother Claiborne’s life. His Christian light shines brightest when he teaches the word of God. He feels obeying the Gospel and remaining faithful are not always easy. As a Christian light in the dark he feels it is his duty to help all who have obeyed the Gospel to remain faithful and to go forward and let their own Christian light shine. Humbled in the presence of God our Brother preaches and teaches with rock solid faith and always true words of the bible. His sermons are always thought provoking, enlightening, encouraging and from his very own heart and soul. As a congregation we can be thoughtful. We have a bold, dynamic spiritual leader in Brother Claiborne, who believes and lives the Gospel he preaches. One of our Brother’s favorite books of the bible is James. He feels this book is excellent on the job training for all children. He looks to Paul from the Bible as a great Christian example of perseverance and steadfastness. His favorite bible verse is Romans 12:1-2, this is the basic training and requirement that God has imposed on all who have obeyed the Gospel of Christ. As a final insight to our Brother in Christ “Go ye ther efore, and teach all nation, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and The Son, and the Holy Spirit.” As our hard fighting soldier for God Brother Claiborne has made a difference in many lives and continues to be a positive force for the Good news of the Bible.
