Brother Robert Cooper
Robert Cooper leading our church Outreach Ministry is Brother Robert R. Cooper. This soft spoken family man has been married 40 years to our own Sister Minnie. They have three wonderful Christian children, Robert, Lore’al and Eric. The Coopers also have 9 grandchildren. Our man of God was introduced to the Church of Christ by Brother Rodney Dashiell. Brother Dashiell’s was a co-worker of Sister Minnie’s when he started teaching them the Gospel. Brother Cooper was baptized June 1, 1992 and he placed membership with the Deer Park Church of Christ. In 1995 he helped to start our own East Baltimore Church of Christ. This devoted Christian has been a care group leader and our Outreach Ministry Leader for five years. In October 2006 the Church recognized his dedication to the Lord and he was installed as a Deacon. Our Brother was very moved and humbled by this honor a nd by this honor and feet truly blessed that his family was present to share this special time with him. The main focus of the outreach ministry is to bring souls to Christ. But this ministry includes many other jobs within the Church. Our Brother leads the Bus Ministry, door knocking, annual Health Fair and the Churches of Christ Campaign 2008. This Campaign 2008 is a world wide endeavor to bring the word of God to 7 million people. Brother Cooper is also working on beginning a Radio Ministry again. All these important responsibilities are taken seriously by our dedicated and patient man of God. The Churches of Christ Campaign 2008 is a major focal point for Brother Cooper. This project is set up and moving forward to bring new souls to Christ. Many of the names submitted by our congregation have been contacted and others will continue making calls. There are also people ready to teach the Gospel. This project will be going on all year and the Church is encouraged to be good stewards and continue submitting names to be contacted. Brother Cooper is very pleased with the20initial response from the spoken to thus far. With the Lords blessing this campaign will be a success and many souls will be saved. The other major focus for Brother Cooper is our annual Health Fair. He will be set up a central location so he can bring the word of God to all attending that day. As has happened in the past our hard working man of God is certain fruit will come to bear from this Outreach Activity. Door knocking before the fair will tell of the activities planned that day but will also introduce the Church to the community and be a chance to share the Gospel. We are indeed blessed the Brother Cooper leads our Outreach Ministry. His service and quiet manor makes him a very easy person to speak with. Our Brother’s favorite duties include one on one bible study and of course bringing souls to Christ. As he goes about his day to day activities he always asks himself what Jesus would do in this situation. It takes a very dedicated and inspired Christian to reach out every day and share the word of God with all one meets. Whether he is bringing the good news to a co-worker, a contact name from the congregation or someone=2 0met at a door knocking our Brother puts his faith to work in earnest as he shares the inspired word of God with everyone. Saving souls and keeping souls saved are words he lives by everyday. His favorite book of the Bible is Paul and his favorite book of the Bible is Galatians. For more insight on our Brother please turn to his favorite verses of the Bible, Psalms 139:8 and 14.
