In January 2010 the  Church family was indeed blessed to have as our new Youth Minister Brother Karl B. Davis and his lovely devoted wife, Sister Sharon Davis.

 

Originally from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma our Brother was transferred to Baltimore in 2004 as a regional technical services manager for Aaron’s Sales & Lease. Brother Davis has a knowledgeable and diverse background in the electronics industry. From 1990 to 2000 he was the CEO/Senior Technician of his own company Paradyme Electronics Inc, a company that was listed with Dunn and Bradstreet in 1995. In 2001 he ran his own recording company called Limelight Studios. A man of vision and dedication to solid Christian principals Brother Davis has shown his leadership ability in all aspects of his life

 

Raised in the Church of Christ his mentor was Brother Clyde Muse of the Oklahoma East Side Church of Christ. He was baptized and added to the Church in 1975. Culminating from his strong sense of duty and dedication to doing the Lord’s work he was made Youth Director from 1985 to 1988. Our energetic and outgoing Man of God was Youth Director for five years at Nicoma Park Church of Christ and five years at Green Pastures Church of Christ. As a leader in the community and the Church and a true calling for the Christian way of life our Brother became a certified Youth Minister in 2003.

 

After being transferred to Baltimore the Davis’ placed membership at the Westside Church of Christ. With a growing focus on spiritual growth they began to look for a new church home. Finally in 2009 they knew their search was over and we were fortunate to have the Davis’ place membership with our congregation.

 

As the Youth Minister Brother Davis will be working tirelessly with and for our youth. This energetic and ingenious gentleman has many wonderful activities planned for the coming months. As he lets his Christian light shine our church family will be blessed and will have the knowledge that our youth will have a strong Brother in Christ to help them as they walk with the Lord. Brother Davis will also be there for the parents as they guide their children in their Christian walk. Our Man of God knows it takes a village to raise a child and as we all work together our youth can and will be a force for God. Signup sheets for two youth coral groups have resulted in an overwhelming response and Brother Davis feels this is just the beginning. Blessed indeed is the Church that praises, challenges, guides and nurtures its youth, for without youth the church will not grow.

 

Brother Davis is a song leader, member of our vocal group, One Accord, youth preacher and enjoys sharing his Christian spirit with all his Brothers and Sisters in Christ. His community service includes work in several homeless shelters. As a man of God he feels his light should shine at all times. Even while working in the world he feels his light can reach out and touch someone in need.

 

It comes as no surprise that Brother Davis’ favorite bible verse is Ecclesiastes 3-“To everything there is a season, and a time to every  purpose under the heaven”. This chapter of Gods inspired word also helps our Brother to be patient something he definitely needs when working with our youth. With patience come truth, love and understanding.

 

As our Brother in Christ has said “it is time to go to work”. May our Church family continue to work together with Brother Davis to raise up our youth in the way of the Lord.
