Larry Frazier Our Christian spotlight shines on Brother Lawrence”Larry” Frazier an Associate Minister and our Fellowship Ministry Leader. This country gentleman is from Charlestown South Carolina and is the second oldest of four sisters and three brothers. He went to Waterloo high School in South Carolina and graduated from Morgan State University in 1980 with a degree in accounting. He and his lovely wife Vanessa will be married 26 years this May. They are the proud parents of three wonderful sons Kaleem, Jamal and Ian. He has been with Kraft Foods since 1983. An invitation to a Church of Christy service by his uncle, Nathaniel Bright opened up the world of the Church to him. At that service he obeyed the Gospel and was added to the Church that same day, June 5, 1975. Our Brother was only 19 at the time and he has remained a good and faithful servant of the Lord. A chance meeting on a train in Kansas was the20beginning of our Brother path to our church. This is where he first met Brother Bethea in 1999. He came to our congregation in October of 2006 and with his strong Christian convictions he has been a wonderful asset to the church ministry. The Fellowship Ministry comprises all church functions and activities. These include singing, youth, seniors, singles, men and women. One only has to watch Brother Frazier performing his duties and it becomes easy to see why this is a ministry he loves. Whether he is talking to children at a care group meeting, teaching a bible class or helping solve a church activity problem, all are handled with kindness, patience and deep abiding love of his Church Family. There is a true talent for helping a child with a piece of cake, brushing away tears when a cookie falls, to having quiet authority as he deals with the church youth. Add to these attributes, soft spoken, kind, peace loving and sincere and you have described our Brother in Christ. He has a strong passion for communicating with and meeting the needs of his Brothers and Sisters in Christ. This is where his Christian light shines as he fellows hips with our congregation. Brother Frazier has been preaching the Gospel since 1991 and it is evident that he has a heartfelt love and conviction for sharing the word of God. His earnest and sincere preaching leaves no doubt that he is a strong Christian light in these dark days of our world. He shares the inspired word of God with every fiber of his being and one knows he believes with all his heart and soul the messages he shares. We can be very thankful he is in our leadership. Not surprisingly he has chosen Paul as the one he would have walked with. He feels Paul saw things from the two worlds he shared, both as a Jew and a Christian. In I Timothy 1:12-16 we read that Saul’s (Paul’s) salvation and the steps he followed are a pattern to all for everlasting life. The book of Romans is Brother Frazier’s favorite as it tells each Christian how they should live and walk in the Lord. His favorite bible ver se is Matthew 7:12. These words are ones our Brother believes and lives by. Brother Frazier sees our Church as the model for a new generation of churches, being more educated in the word of God and going forth to being light into the dark
